A Thank You Letter to Richard Kinder of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners
From: S.A. Matthews, New Ipswich, NH
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart for proposing the huge pipeline through Southern New Hampshire. Thanks to you and this proposed project I have come out of hibernation and met hundreds (no exaggeration) of great people who oppose you on this catastrophe.
Their objections are based on safety, moral and financial hardship issues where the hopes and plans of hundreds of families are being trampled by the prospects of this monstrosity.
These people have become my new friends and I have never met a more honest, truthful group in my long life. I understand that the word “friends” probably is an anathema to you. I understand that you surround yourself with business associates, cronies and underlings but it is not the same. They don’t do things for you because they love you. They do it for money. That is certainly something you understand!
All of us friends also know a little about money. We understand that we don’t have a lot of it. We understand that your indifference to this fact jeopardizes savings and plans we have worked at for years.
So, on the money side of things you may well come out on top. But for friends – I am far richer than you will ever be.
